Why is this tiny electronic recording device so intimidating?

Hi all,

Sorry for not updating in so long. At least, I can say I am consistently inconsistent.

Before I do anything else, I want to say hello to any new visitors, and welcome. Thank you for checking out my website. Feel free to browse at your leisure.

Also, thank you to everyone that downloaded my books this weekend. My free book campaign was awesome success. It made me excitedly tear up.

So, what’s next?

We-ell…. there is a YouTube channel revamp/relaunch on the horizon… like soon.

I think I’ve overcome my anxiety when facing a camera, which is weird for me. I can talk to anyone, pretty much about anything, even sports if necessary. But, put me in front of a camera and I turn into solid stone.
How is this possible? There’s NO ONE there.

I am just a teensy disappointed in myself. I am a writer after all. As a general rule, writers don’t run out of things to talk about, or the ability to do so.

All, that being said, I can safely say I have reached an amateur level of camera speak. I plan on relaunching my channel next week. I think I have some good content, (hopefully), at the very least I will be entertaining myself.

And, don’t worry. Yes, there will be new books… soonish.

Who am I? I’m Tiffany Easterling, still an Evilbunny, still a writer.

Back to being myself.

I would berate myself for not updating sooner, but I don’t think like that. I consider, for a moment, that I should/shouldn’t have done something, and move on. Admittedly, I make a lot of mistakes. I will also admit that I’ve been lazy and feeling a strange lack of creativity and enthusiasm.

Yeah, I’m a bum.

However, hopefully, next month I will start updating regularly… I’d start now, but I have a really good excuse… It’s a house environment thing.

I’m also planning on starting a podcast going back to making YouTube videos. Right now, I’m leaning more toward podcast. I think I might be able to entertain… or annoy (depending on how you look at it) a broader audience that way.

Currently, I am back to working on Priestess. I’m very excited for this book and glad that I’m actually making progress. I will just say sometimes my brain does not stay as focused despite my wanting otherwise.

And, that’s pretty much it for my update. So, it’s back to writing and editing.

Who am I?

I’m Tiffany Easterling. Sometimes romance writer, sometimes flibbertigibbet.

I fell in love in thirty seconds.

Let’s take a moment to discuss Nathan Fillion because I got to meet him. And, I got to talk to him for a whole thirty seconds at Dragoncon.

I have this book, my book. One of my first prints of GenesisSpell. It isn’t the copy that’s available now. It’s the first edition, before final copy, and it has lots more grammar mistakes. (My secret shame is that I suck at grammar. Yeah, I know, whole other blog post.) Anyway, I started getting signatures in, said book, riddled with the black marks of my many mistakes. Not just famous people’s signatures, but signatures like the woman who bought the very first book, another writer that was kind and encouraging, the fun guy, with a devastating smile, that will spend all night at a con talking about anime with you. Yes, I do have other signatures in it, from famous actors and voice actors too, but they all have value to me.

So then, there’s me, at Dragoncon, standing in line with no less than five hundred other people, waiting three hours to get Nathan Fillion signature in my book. Did I mention I was cosplaying a female Mal?

Finally, it’s my turn to meet him. And, OMG, he was panting dropping charming. He was engaging, friendly, and genuine. He shook my hand and gave me a gorgeous smile that damn near made my heart stop. Then he said, “I like your outfit.”

Me, I babbled on something about taking care of himself, because con’s are full of nasty. I don’t know why. I just didn’t want this beautiful, charming man succumbing to con crud. He thanked me said he was getting a bit of a migraine, to which I apologized, then I thanked him for his signature, and walked away wondering why I was so concerned with his health.

Then I figured it out.

I fell in love with Nothing Fillion in thirty seconds flat.

And, I didn’t want anything to happen to my new love.

Feeling this way, is very unusual for me. I like being in love with the unobtainable fictional character. I like obsessing and daydreaming over men that don’t exist. Sure, Malcolm Reynolds is completely obsession-worthy, but I never imagined that Nathan Fillion was too.

I’m baffled by my own thought processes and how I let this happen. Not only do I not like real life me, but I have a very definite type.
Nathan Fillion as a sexy, charming personal rule breaker.

Thank God, he only talked to me for thirty seconds, because I’m not sure my heart could take much longer.

Who am I? I’m Tiffany Easterling, science fiction romance writer. I’m also that girl that falls for a charming smile.

When I thought of it, I thought it was a good idea.

When I first started writing, I had the idea, ‘Omigod, how cool I could publish a musical soundtrack that I think goes with my work.’
After some thought, and even making a play list on YouTube, I’ve discovered that I’m really cheesy.

In a good way. Like, a fine brie with some fruit topping.

I’m probably not the only that has a musical soundtrack inside their head for their books. And, I’m not the only one that has published said soundtrack.
But, I do think mine is coolest, in a brie with fruit way.

So, here is the playlist for both GenesisSpell and FateSpell.
Can you guess which one is Audley’s theme song? Or which one is Tristan’s theme song? Leave me a comment. Tell me what you think.

My Not so Secret… Secret

Today, I got a question regarding something people out in the ‘verse’ may not know.

I was born with a congenital condition called Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (ONH).

I know, boring right?

Basically, it means my optic nerve is underdeveloped. The side effect, I’m classified as legally blind.

People often ask me what I can see? How do I see? Oh, and my favorite, do I drive?

My answers to those questions vary, depending on how in depth an answer the asker wants. Well, except the driving part. I always answer, “I don’t know, I haven’t tried it yet. Can I borrow your car?”

I think I’m funnier than I actually am. At least I entertain myself.

The short version of how my vision works is that I have to get super close to things, I don’t see colors, and I can’t adjust to bright lights.

I actually forget that blind because I’ve adapted to my condition. There isn’t much I can’t do or won’t attempt to do. I’d say within limits, but I don’t pay attention to limits anyway.

There are times I’m envious of other people’s independence. Driving is an amazing privilege. However, my visual limits don’t bother me for very long because what I can’t see, my imagination fills in for me.

On any given day, I think I see trolls, dragons, weird skeletal birds… I’ve even seen a storm trooper holding balloons in front of a sandwich shop.

Normal sighted people have no idea what they’re missing. There is some crazy stuff out there.

Although, I think this is why I love books. They give me visions into worlds I can’t see. I would say this is probably why I’m a writer, but I think I would be a writer regardless. An overactive imagination is a beautiful, wonderful, and distracting gift.

I will be honest, because of my vision, grammar does not work for me. I hear things differently than I see them and the rules don’t make sense. God bless you grammar fanatics because us mere mortals would completely butcher the English language on paper anyway.

So that’s my not so secret, secret. It’s nothing risque like having a harem of men stashed in my closet. I mean I wish, but I’m not that cool.

Who am I?
I’m Tiffany Easterling, seer of trolls and dragons.

It’s zero hour for publishing and I have to say…. wow logistics.

The Print version of FateSpell, book two of the Aurora series will be available at midnight.

Here:

FateSpell

The Kindle E-reader version will follow soon.

Keeping this cover art secret, has been one of the hardest secrets to keep. I’ve wanted to show it to everyone.

I hope you like it as much as I do.

Because I’m a little tired from logistical work, I don’t have a lot to say. I’m not my usual talkative self when I’m this sleepy.  I know, scary right?

The demon that is WordPress has been temporarily subdued, or in this case restructured.

I’ve added new content. No, I’m not going to tell you what it is. There’s just to much fun in it for me if you look for yourself. But, look. Seriously, because battling WordPress has taken a lot out of me and I suffered wounds.

Tomorrow, there will be even more updates.

Cough cough, (full cover)

So… Stay tuned for more fun stuff… well fun for me anyway.

When it comes to logistics… all I have are planning and good intentions.

Today I wanted to work on my website and get it ready for the upcoming release of FateSpell. But, after ten hours of work, a trip to the grocery story, cooking dinner, and doing my regular chores, my energy has just pittered out.

Well, that is the excuse I’m going with.

It’s not because I hate logistics and find them torturously boring. No. It’s not because I consistently roll a botch every time I log into my WordPress account. It’s not because I always manage completely wreck my website before I finally add something.

It’s not because my website and I are mortal enemies locked in an epic fight for the Iron Throne.

Sigh okay… it is. Today I shamefully lost my battle with WordPress and barely managed to get the website looking like it was before I conceded victory to WordPress.

The battle will rage on tomorrow. Where I will hopefully conquer this monster that is WordPress enough to get some new content available regarding ‘FateSpell, book two of the Aurora series’.

I’m going to answer the burning question. Why did book two take so long?

The truth, I wanted it to be better than book one. I wanted it to be the best part of the story.

I think I’ve achieved that… for the most part. I may fall into that cliché of writers that are never satisfied with their work. But, I had to let it go. In the end, my characters bullied me into it. They wanted you to hear the rest of their story.

Just in case you’re wondering there isn’t going to be a book three. Book two is going to finish Audley and Tristan’s saga. Truth be told, Audley was not going to let me break this story into three parts. He’s impatient and tends to get destructive when he doesn’t get his way.

I like my house, thank you very much.

In other exciting news. Book two has a collection of new characters eager to be introduced to readers… Aeeaaannnd, anxious to be the center of a reader’s attention.

Who am I?

I’m Tiffany Easterling, cheesy sci-fi romance writer. And, in 5 days… publisher of my own series.

Mistakes, because I’m not too hard headed to learn from them.

As a writer, especially one who started a little late in life, I have had to learn some very important lessons.

For example; What is a good idea? What is a bad idea? Inevitably I fail to recognize good ideas until I’ve tried and failed… a lot.

But, here is what I’ve learned.

First and very importantly, no matter how impatient I am, I will never publish unfinished story again. I dislike it, I’m pretty sure it frustrates my readers, and my characters hate it. Seriously, you should hear the voices in my head. They tend to bitch loudly when they don’t get their way.

Though the Aurora will be an epic saga, with action, romance, and awesome sex, I promise never to leave you the reader… and more importantly, my characters hanging in the lurch.

Time management is another mistake I make. This is something I’m continually struggling with because I’m very easily distracted by the ‘shiny things’ of the world. I mean the second season of Voltron could have waited?

However, I did realize I have an hour for lunch every day at my day job. (The one that sucks out my soul for eight hours a day, five days a week.)

It doesn’t take me an hour to eat. It doesn’t even take me an hour to drink a cup of coffee. In fact, I could drink a cup of coffee, eat, go to the bathroom, offer minor socialization, and still have time to sit at my desk and doze for a light cat nap.

Amazingly, I have been wasting a productive hour a day. I have an entire hour that I could dedicate to maintaining my social media and blogs. I normally don’t devote a whole lot of time social updated, because UCK logistics… and I get distracted by the shiny when I attempt to do these things.

There are NO distractions at my day job.
So, look forward to updates on my social media and more insight into my crazy brain.
